Triple Arthrodesis Procedures in the Quad Cities

TRIPLE ARTHRODESIS

Triple arthrodesis procedures are performed at ORA Orthopedics – the largest and most advanced provider of specialized orthopedic care in the Quad Cities. ORA’s surgeons, nurses and physical therapists at our Foot & Ankle Center of Excellence provide personalized and compassionate treatment to help our patients return to the activities they enjoy as quickly and safely as possible. If you live in Moline, IL, Bettendorf, IA, Davenport, IA, or another surrounding community, consider us your first choice for comprehensive musculoskeletal care, including foot and ankle surgery.

Triple arthrodesis involves fusing three foot joints together – the talonavicular joint, the calcaneocuboid joint, and the subtalar joint. The goal of this procedure is to improve stability and alignment as well as to relieve severe foot pain and correct deformities that cannot effectively be addressed through nonsurgical means.

There are several factors that may lead to the need for triple arthrodesis surgery, including:

  • Advanced arthritis
  • Deformity from trauma or a congenital condition
  • Joint instability from neuromuscular disease
  • Severe flatfoot
  • Very high arches

At ORA Orthopedics in the Quad Cities, our doctors take a conservative approach to treatment that focuses first on addressing problems with conservative methods, such as physical therapy, orthotics, and bracing. However, in the event that triple arthrodesis surgery presents the best chance for an optimal recovery, ORA surgeons employ the latest advances in surgical care to provide outstanding results for our patients.
