DIABETIC WOUND TREATMENT
Diabetic wound treatment is available at ORA Orthopedics, the largest and most advanced provider of orthopedic care in the Quad Cities. Since 1963, generations of families throughout Moline, IL, Davenport, IA, Bettendorf, IA, and surrounding communities have trusted our specialists with their orthopedic health, and you can confidently do the same.
“Diabetic foot” is often used to describe a condition known as Charcot arthropathy, which is one of several problems that may arise from diabetes-related nerve damage. In this condition, the bones of the foot are severely weakened, causing the foot to change shape over time. Because there is decreased sensation in the foot from nerve damage, the affected individual may not realize there is a problem until physical changes start to develop.
At the ORA Orthopedics Foot & Ankle Center of Excellence in the Quad Cities, our specialists provide diabetic wound treatment that is tailored to the specific needs of each individual. Depending on the extent of the foot deformity and the patient’s overall health, we may suggest a combination of bracing, custom shoes and activity modification to protect the bones and promote healing. Surgery to restore the shape of the foot may be necessary in some cases. Our team includes board-certified foot surgeons who utilize the latest advances in care to achieve outstanding results for our patients.
Contact ORA Orthopedics today to schedule an appointment with a foot specialist, during which you can learn more about our personalized approach to diabetic wound treatment. With several conveniently located centers in the Quad Cities, same- or next-day appointments and extended hours, ORA Orthopedics makes it simpler than ever before to see an orthopedic doctor.
I cannot be happier with the care I received when walking into the ORA walk-in clinic. I had a large amount of pain and even though Julee Waibel was not well versed in giving plantar steroid shots, she was willing and took the time to learn from a fellow provider so I could get the shot in office instead of oral steroids which allowed for quicker relief. Thank you so very much. I seriously appreciate you and Dr. Ganshirt for helping me when I know you could have just given me oral meds. Thank you Thank you. Nicole Martin - Nicole M. - 4 months ago
