Ryan received his Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology in 2015 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2017, both from the University of Iowa. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

He enjoys staying active and being outdoors as much as possible. Ryan is also a huge Iowa Hawkeyes football and wrestling fan and enjoys going to as many sporting events as he can.
