Selective Nerve Root Block Injections from Pain Doctors in the QC

SELECTIVE NERVE ROOT BLOCK

Selective nerve root block (SNRB) injections can be used to help diagnose the source of nerve pain in a patient’s spine as well as provide relief from back pain. The specialists at ORA Orthopedics’ Pain Center of Excellence provide this therapy and many others at our state-of-the-art locations throughout the Quad Cities. If you live in Moline, IL, Bettendorf, IA, Davenport, IA, or a nearby community and are struggling with chronic musculoskeletal pain, consult with a pain management specialist on our team about your treatment options.

SNRB is a relatively common injection therapy often used in conjunction with an MRI to locate a compressed spinal nerve that is causing uncomfortable symptoms. Because traditional imaging may not always expose pinched nerves, SNRB injections can be administered into nerve roots where the doctor suspects the compression. If the pain subsides, it can be assumed that the source of the discomfort is the injected nerve root. The injection, which includes a numbing agent and an anti-inflammatory medication, can also reduce uncomfortable inflammation around the affected nerve root.

At ORA Orthopedics, our treatment begins with how we treat you. We will help you return to the activities you enjoy by carefully evaluating your symptoms, identifying the exact cause of your pain, and developing a comprehensive treatment plan that is tailored to your needs. Our team of specialists will use their diverse expertise and vast resources to help you overcome your chronic pain and get you back to living life to the fullest.
