ORA Orthopedics Offers BMAC Therapy in the Quad Cities
Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate Therapy
Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) therapy is a relatively new treatment that has shown promising results in certain patients with soft tissue injuries or painful musculoskeletal conditions. ORA Orthopedics offers this innovative new therapy at our Regenerative Medicine Centers located throughout the Quad Cities. If you have tendon or ligament injuries or joint pain that does not improve with conservative treatment, such as physical therapy and bracing, orthobiologics cell therapy may be a viable option.
BMAC therapy at ORA Orthopedics uses the patient’s own cells to promote healing. Our regenerative medicine specialists are specially trained in orthobiologics, which involves the use of regenerative mesenchymal cells harvested from bone marrow. Bone marrow cells can be regenerative and are responsible for repairing and rebuilding damaged tissue.
During this minimally invasive, clinic-based procedure, a small amount of bone marrow is extracted from the patient’s lower back area. The bone marrow is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the mesenchymal cells and growth factors present in the bone marrow. This concentration of cells and healing components are then injected into the injured area to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms and encourage a faster recovery. There is little to no down time associated with BMAC therapy – most patients are able to resume their normal activities within one to two days after the procedure.
If joint pain is impacting your quality of life, we encourage you to contact ORA Orthopedics in the Quad Cities. We will be happy to schedule you an appointment with one of our regenerative medicine specialists who can evaluate your condition, answer your questions, and suggest an appropriate course of treatment for you.
I did not see Alyse Sandoval here as the text suggests. I saw Misael Garcia who was wonderful! Very informative and caring. Took great care of me and I would recommend him to anyone! - Cheryl S. - 3 months ago
