ORA Orthopedics Offers Stem Cell Therapy in the Quad Cities
Stem cell therapy is a relatively new treatment that has shown promising results in certain patients with soft tissue injuries or painful musculoskeletal conditions. ORA Orthopedics offers this innovative new therapy, along with other forms of regenerative medicine, at our Regenerative Medicine Centers located throughout the Quad Cities. If you have tendon or ligament injuries or joint pain that does not improve with conservative treatment, such as physical therapy and bracing, stem cell therapy may be a viable option.
Stem cell therapy at ORA Orthopedics uses the patient’s own stem cells to promote healing. Our regenerative medicine specialists are specially trained in Bone Marrow Concentrate (BMC) therapy, which involves the use of stem cells harvested from bone marrow. Bone marrow stem cells are regenerative and are responsible for repairing and rebuilding damaged tissue.
During this minimally invasive, clinic-based procedure, a small amount of bone marrow is extracted from the patient’s lower back area. The bone marrow is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the adult stem cells and growth factors present in the bone marrow. This concentration of stem cells and healing components are then injected into the injured area to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms and encourage a faster recovery. There is little to no down time associated with stem cell therapy – most patients are able to resume their normal activities within one to two days after the procedure.
If joint pain is impacting your quality of life, we encourage you to contact ORA Orthopedics in the Quad Cities. We will be happy to schedule you an appointment with one of our regenerative medicine specialists who can evaluate your condition, answer your questions, and suggest an appropriate course of treatment for you.
