Myles Luszczyk, D.O.

Dr. Myles did a triple cervical fusion on me in 2022. He was my second opinion doctor and was so patient when explaining what was going to happen and what could happen, etc. It went perfectly. I was surprised at how quickly I recovered and how well my neck moved. He has a wonderful support staff and John Tryon is the physician’s assistant and was super. I’ve seen John and the rest of the staff a lot in the past few years. I have quite a bit of arthritis in my neck, and I tend to not behave myself, so I will probably need to have another fusion at some point in the future. Dr. Myles will be the surgeon, no worries there.

Very personable Surgeon. He explained and showed me on my films why he could not help me surgically with the tremendous effects of arthritis on my spine. Not what I wanted to hear but I am glad he didn't sugar coat it. I would recommend Dr. Myles.

My 1st appt was yesterday and Dr Myles was so sympathetic to me and the results of my MRI he explained and showed me in detail what I’m facing. He was kind, gentle, and I know that if I decide the surgical route that I will be in good hands

I went to see Dr. Luszczyk for a surgical consult due to my foraminal stenosis in my neck. He checked my symptoms and found something peculiar. He told me he could do surgery but didn't think it would help me. He said I needed to see a neurologist on an academic level instead. He was right. My neurologist discovered I have a rare, hereditary neuromuscular disease. My course of treatment completely changed . I'm grateful for Dr. Luszczyk's honesty and skill for being able to discern symptoms that were overlooked by other physicians.

I had my first visit last week. He reviewed my records and reviewed my scans with me. He explained things well and I was very comfortable asking questions. I had a repeat MRI today and will have a follow up appointment to review that test and develop a plan of care. I am impressed with ORA. Every staff member I have had contact with has been pleasant, helpful, and shown concern for my care.

His sense of humor had a relaxing affect on me, which was greatly appreciated since my pain level was quite high. But the part that was most impressive and appreciated was his intervention by checking if the pain may be more from the shoulder than the neck … and X-rays showed bone-on-bone! Referred me to a shoulder specialist!! Will deal with neck issues after shoulder issues are resolved. Amazing competence … thank you!

Dr Luszczyk was straight forward with his opinion, plan and explanations. He was approachable and open for questions and discussion.

If I could give Dr.Luszczyk a hundred more stars I would. He was so honest, caring, and seems like he actually cares. My surgery went longer than expected, and he could have taken the easy way out. But he didn't, he delivered what he promised. I received two artificial discs in my neck instead of a fusion. He gave me my life back and I am forever thankful. His whole staff is wonderful. He was so cool and confident the day of surgery, I was relaxed knowing I was in good hands. I would recommend him over and over. Honest, smart, caring, overall an amazing person.

Dr. Myles spent a lot of time with me. I saw pictures of my spine along with the problems, and he talked to me in language i could understand. I have heard and read wonderful reviews, so i am confident that my surgery will be successful.

Dr. Miles was terrific. I expected 15 minutes and he'd be on to the next person, yet he gave over 30 minutes to talk through my situation. He also was firm that he as a surgeon did back surgery all the time, but I was not a candidate. He explained in detail my MRI and then set up other treatment within ORA. And he spoke clear English, somewhat rare in this day and age. Many thanks to him.

Had a follow up with Dr. Myles with an updated MRI. I love his candor, his directness and his detailed analysis. A year ago he talked me out of back surgery. This year based on significant deterioration he has referred me to a great surgeon at university of Iowa. He displayed both surprise and empathy relative to the change in my MRI. After several years of pain in my back and right leg and various treatments including a spinal procedure at University of Iowa Hospital I had the good fortune to consult with Doctor Luszczyk. He recommended and performed delicate surgery on my spine to remove bone growth that was infringing on my spinal nerves, and then installed a spacer in my spine and fused joints together - major surgery. This was done without a hitch and the results were perfect. Now six weeks later I have no pain and can walk and function without issue. At 84 years old this was remarkable. I am so very pleased to offer my thanks and appreciation for his talent and skills.
