Subtalar fusion may be a treatment option for patients with instability, arthritis, or a deformity that affects the subtalar joint – a complex joint in the foot that includes the calcaneus (the heel bone) and the talus, a bone located just above the heel. The subtalar joint plays a key role in walking motions and allows for side-to-side movement of the foot. The goal of subtalar fusion surgery is to correct joint instability or deformity or to remove an arthritic portion of the joint. During the procedure, a section of the joint between the calcaneus and talus is removed and the remaining joint surfaces are fused together.
At ORA Orthopedics in the Quad Cities, our treatment begins with how we treat you. As our patient, rest assured you will receive personalized care designed to help you get back on your feet and back to the activities you love.

It was my first time seeing Paul McCoy but I trust him. He answered all my questions and took the time to explain everything. I would definitely go see him again. - Marilynn S. - 5 months ago
